Lovvers - demo - CDR (2006)

Lovvers are an interesting new band from Nottingham, including Shaun from Tera Tora (ex Murder Of etc) on vocals, and other Nottingham locals. This is a very pleasing cd for a group of guys that to date have only done a handful of shows. I described them when I first heard them as “delightfully sloppy”” and I think that sticks pretty good. Here we have 5 tracks of sloppy noisy punk rock totally distorted and spazzed out without hitting any of the clichés of the past few years (Boulty and Phil at Stuckonaname studios have applied their raw and powerful mixing and recordings skills on this) making this come out sounding like the offspring of the second Nation of Ulysses lp and early Ex. I think these guys could get popular if they stick at this stuff get something out before the end of the year perhaps there is much need for decent spazzed out punk bands right now in a scene which seems saturated by bands with offbeats for the sake of doing stupid (faux)camp dances to before a shit metal breakdown. Pick this up if you can still find it.”
