Labels: Keep Screaming

So yet another hardcore band sprouts up from the middle of nowhere in that hinterland around Greater London, plays a handful of blazing gigs, squeezes out a release or two and then bites the dust before you can say, “Ooh, give us a pick-slide”. A shame really, as this 7″ (and a posthumous CDR that you can still get from the label) show that RTWF were already fully-formed by this early stage, and I hope the members go on to do other things. Musically, you’re dealing with a fun take on DS-13’s amusing, scattered punk ‘n’ roll, with plenty of crunchy bits in amongst the balls-out attack. Lyrically though, it’s quite at odds with the fun atmosphere. Plenty of quite intense prose conveying something of the negativity of bands like Leicester’s Brain Dead, all threats and rage and bludgeon. Still, a great record, not to be missed!
