This six-piece, consisting of a mixture of local southern Irish and imported French players, worked slowly when it came to making their nicely presented pair of demos, but they sure made it count. [R]oaS do a thoroughly barnstorming heavy type of rocking hardcore with tinges of mordant doom. Simple but monolithic riffs topple down at just the right tempo, this side of Neurosis’ epic feel whilst evoking Breach’s faster moments, or Red Stars Parade if you’re after a more modern touchstone. The second demo is where they really hit their stride, with “Sacrifice”, “Hell” and “Routine” flowing inexorably together like the Mississippi Delta. These guys show extreme promise.
