War All The Time - Whole In The Head - Split - 7

Labels: Crime Scene
Review by: Kunal Nandi

Right on. War All The Time are some old dudes (including one-man music scene Sned) playing rocket-powered hardcore with massive, memorable riffs that is exactly what I need to fill that Boxed In-shaped hole in my miserable life. There are some absolutely great vocals too – shouting may be shouting at the end of the day, but this guy has a mighty, throaty, Viking yell on him that I can get right behind. Southampton’s Whole In The Head are pretty new at the game, but a mighty proposition already. A bit more furious and scattered than WATT, but with just as much impact, they evoke all the hardcore greats without directly ripping off anyone in particular. Hardcore is great.
