This is some really solid indie rock right here, a mere five songs on one side of vinyl. Things start off with “Cynics & Critics”” which bounces along nicely – somewhere between Superchunk and “”Very Emergency”” era Promise Ring. The guitars are all buzzy with a nice bass tone balancing things out. The vocals are provided by a slightly off-key chap and a girl who interjects here and there the harmonies work particularly well on the more driving “”Little Mouthfuls””. Each song features a certain amount of keyboard but it doesn’t intrude and adds a little flavour to proceedings.
The whole thing is over and done with in 15 minutes so we’re not talking a release of epic proportions here
