For what I’d say is a stopgap release between albums, they sure have gone all-out presentation wise. Flavour of the month artist John Baizley (Seldon Hunt, your time is up) provides a lavish gatefold, there are tens of different vinyl colours available (most of them fairly grotesque) and there’s even a free CD version included, so you needn’t actually ever have to PLAY the bloody record at all! As an added bonus, there’s some music too. If you’re familiar with Torche, it’s more of the same, just more focussed, catchier and louder. Imagine totally day-glo, mountainously heavy stoner-pop with mammoth riffs and huge melodies that you could physically grab out the air. The title track might just be the best song ever made by human hands. It must be fun to be in this band. Expect their next album “Meanderthal” on Hydrahead soon.
