Mongolia are from Dublin (not Ulaan Batur) and play instrumental stoner rock, so in an utterly genius burst of inspiration, I’m going to compare them to The Kabinboy. It’s not complete journalistic laziness though, as they really do sound similar, with a simple, big-riffing approach with coolly melodic, bluesy riffs which they’ve managed to do surprisingly well considering their background in mega-rapid hardcore bands such as xKnifedx, Easpa Measa and Tunguska.
