Thrak. A daft name, either cribbed from King Crimson or onomatopoeic for the kind of dull but sure sound a crossbow bolt might make upon impact with a roll of neck fat. If it’s the latter then it’s fairly natural for a band so-named to put together a 16-song, fast-slow-fast powerviolence 7″ with snarky vocals and world-hating lyrics, right? Yes-siree, just too bad the music’s yawn-inducingly rote and scuppered by a recording that tugs the rug from under them, rendering their whole noisy schtick thin, hollow and toothlessly unthreatening.
