Pull Out An Eye - s/t - CD (2008)

Labels: Pull Out An Eye
Review by: Kunal Nandi

Prior to this, I couldn’t name a single band that have come from Belarus, but Pull Out An Eye have come along and ticked that particular box with gusto. Living in Europe’s last dictatorship, you can easily imagine how politically minded the lyrical attack is, although song meanings are provided rather than potentially clumsy translations which would only weaken their position. Put simply, this sounds a lot lighter than I may have suggested, being as it is D.S.-13 or Kid Dynamite styled thrashy and fun stop-start hardcore that would easily be at home on a label like 625. In fact, here’s hoping Hirax Max hears this and picks them up for a release of some sort to bring to the wider punk community. Cracking stuff.
