Pinhead Gunpowder - s/t - 7

Labels: recess
Review by: Andy Malcolm

I can’t believe that this band, who are most famous for being ex-Chino Horde, have released a new record! And it is great! Like you should be surprised by that. “West Side Highway” kicks things off in a rocking, melodic punk fashion. The vocals sound really familiar to me, but I can’t quite place them. Anyway, it’s a great song. As usual, all lyrics are penned by Aaron Elliott. Who is now 40. He also writes them in only capital letters. Apparently this is the first Pinhead Gunpowder release in 8 years. I am fairly sure that Collective reviewed that last one. That is how OLD SKOOL we fucking are. You can see that review to the right of this one if we did. I am not really that fussed with the acoustic song “On The Ave” but the other two songs are super good, especially “West Side Highway”. Get this 7″ if you like free wheeling, melodic punk rock. You should. I WANNA BE AN AMERICAN IDIOT>
