the James Warner Prophecies - Sing - CD (2008)

Labels: self released
Review by: Andy Malcolm

Oh good lord, this single is astonishing. What on earth were they thinking? It’s a pop-grunge singer fronting a ludicrously upbeat pop band that has a flute. It is deleriously bouncy music, yet the singer guy wails over the top of it, leaving me trying to work out if it is a knowing juxtaposition of the misery of grunge, and the twee of playing a flute. Who knows? Not me. And I do not have even this much:

.

desire to find out the truth.

And that’s just the first track. After that they’re off into Levellers territory. The Levellers crossed with Creed. My jaw is literally on the floor, and seeing as I haven’t hoovered for ages, I wouldn’t do that on purpose in a hurry.

I do not deny the right of anyone to make music of any kind (except for MTV screamo), but this is downright unbelievable.
