You know what annoys me? That the Ergs split up whilst their members dick around in inferior bands like Used Kids! I ask you! It’s not like Used Kids suck, but man, do the Ergs dude. Do the Ergs. Actually, everyone in this band is in a better band. Two of them are in Modern Machines. And one of them is in Cheeky. I just realised I have no idea what Cheeky sound like, I mix them up with Bossy. Used Kids is basically like Modern Machines but they have a song with Mikey Erg singing. It’s sloppy, rocking, red neck melodic punk. I like the silly guitar solos on “Rock Rock Rock (Yeah)”, which is when Mikey sings. This is their best track, except it’s a Tom Petty cover, which fits in with the red neck thing. “Midwest Summer” sounds exactly like Modern Machines doing their Husker Du thing. It has harmonica. Ok.
This is a decent 7″.
