I appreciate that this submission came with a note that suggested the band had at least checked the site out. Which makes me less inclined to dismiss stuff out of hand with but a cursory listen. Kids Love Lies do a 3 tracks of melodic, riffy indie rock here with heavily accented female vocals, which instantly makes me think of Sleeper, except the delivery is no wear near as irritating. Now, to be honest that is not exactly the kind of thing that is going to get the average Collective reader’s heart pumping, but I suspect if I was a bit more familiar with Sleater Kinney then perhaps I would be comparing to them to that band instead, so it’s more a fault of my lack of breadth of knowledge. The third song gets a bit dancey and bounces around nicely. Ok, I’m struggling a bit here. I suspect these guys will be pretty popular with the student indie circuit, that’s if there are still students who actually listen to indie. The twits.
