Unless you’re an Aussie, have your ear closer to the ground than most or are lucky enough to have a pal who finds a stash hidden under someone else’s bed, there’s a pretty good chance you’re missing out on Extortion’s first 7″. Good news then that it’s been reissued – albeit in a limited quality – and even deigns to reward the laggards by bunging a couple of extra tracks on as bunce. The first side is taken up with the 11 tracks from that debut 7″ – a typically excellent dose of belligerently nihilistic dash-out-yer-brains hardcore that references the likes of Infest and No Comment – while the flip begins with a lengthy pounder called ‘Over And Over’ that mines slower, heavier territory (think second-album Cold Sweat) and finishes with four solid if non-revelatory live cuts. Excellent!
