Quiet Steps - s/t - CD (2007)

Labels: Yellow Ghost Records
Review by: Danny Parsons

Underproduced, overly emo. This is fucking excellent. There’s enough twiddles and fiddles on this EP to keep anyone EVER happy; this is really promising stuff. There’s four songs in total and all of them follow roughly the same structure and tempo (not a bad thing though). The bass and drums are relatively simple I guess; this chap’s guitar sounds really nice though. Some of it’s quite damn intricate. I’d say that the best of the four is ‘Letter to Walsingham’ in which the Aussie vocals really shine through. There’s plenty of crying/screaming/sobbing and such catchy guitar work! This song makes me very excited, even if it is all a bit sad face. I’m not really sure what else to say about this release. It’s really good, worth it even if just for that one song. One of the better Aussiemo bands around at the moment.
