I always get this band mixed up with Bossy, not that they sound that similar. Cheeky is sloppy, short punk rock songs, and this inevitably means I have to compare them to Lefty Loosie, although not as drunk. The band seems to have a few issues with their local scene, taking shots at dicks who ruin shows, and arseholes in bands. Cheeky set their stall out, get a bit angry, shout a bit and make a good racket. You can get where they are coming from on the final track “Quit your fucking whining, go listen to Black Flag”, which looks to be a song about lazy shits who live with their parents (I’ve been there). Anyway, Cheeky are a solid listen, this isn’t anything dynamite but it is a solid set of five energetic, pulsating punk rock songs delivered with snappy attitude and a fair whack of pissed-offed-ness.
