Snuffy Smile releases are gloriously haphazard these days, a bit of photocopied paper glued on a record sleeve is pretty much par for the course with anything on that label in the late years of the first decade of the 21st century (holy crap, the decade that no-one could come up with a decent name for is almost over, where did it go? Y2K and the end of the world feels mere seconds ago). The Centerhits play 3 tracks of suitably ramshackle sloppy punk on this amateurish looking package. Squeaky girl vocals, shouty guy vocals, basic riffs and some decent tunes. One song even starts “ONE TWO FUCK YOU!”, and lyrics are as profound as “If you are city-girl friend I wanna be your city-boy. It’s city of sex”, and typical Snuffy band weirdly translated shit like “Without your onionhead I can’t take a sore grape”???? Ace. Anyway, The Centerhits are straight forward, punk rock with nothing going for it other than that it’s making a tuneful racket in a pleasing fashion. A solid addition to the Snuffy canon.
