The Vivians - Just Two Girls b/w Glass Houses - 7

Labels: Too Pure
Review by: Ben Haynes

Misleading in more ways than one, this Edinburgh troupe is in fact an all-male five-piece. The press release contains a fantastic quote from the NME describing them as “œScotland’s answer to the New York Dolls”, while their own record label describes them as “œriotous, anthemic punk” and even has the guile to compare them to Richard Hell. In fact the two songs here sound like a wet Killers, or even-more-flaccid Glasvegas, played by clueless, desperate, industry-pandering fucking idiots wearing leather jackets and shades.

Dire, awful, horrible music. Artrocker indie-pish-by-numbers and the worst kind of shit available. Avoid at all costs.
