Snagged this one from the review pile based on 30 seconds or so of nimble, skittish mathiness that had the potential to be at least half-way listenable. MORE FOOL ME. Seems like every other bit of the damn thing is crunchy, overwrought post-hardcore that’s tepid at best and owes as much to the warbly prog wank of Muse or A Perfect Circle as the pounding chunkiness of Quicksand. While the music is, I guess, at least passably bland it’s the singer that really kills things stone cold dead, the big sop managing to combine the twin irks of smartarse loftiness and skin-crawling handwringing to diabolical effect. Horrid, in a word “” now get out of my ears and into my bin.
