This is unfortunately JBAC’s last release before disbanding. It’s a bit of a step up from the previous EP in that it has quite a few unexpected tempo changes, plenty of melody”¦ basically just a slightly more mature sound than before. The recording quality is better too which is a bonus. The song titles are still absurd but if there’s one thing I do like about this band, it’s that they seem to know how to construct a song that is exactly the right length. I don’t think there’s a song that’s over 2 minutes long. Cool. Another development with this release is that there seems to be dual vocals at times which is nice “” just sort of adds an extra layer to everything. Highlights for me are the first and last songs; quite angular and jazzy with lots of variation. Shame this band had to split up, but in all fairness, I’m not sure there’s that much more you could do in this format. Neat release though.
