I am as surprised as anyone that I got sent something to review that isn’t complete crap. Ignoring the ridiculously righteous press sheet, this is five tracks of solid anthemic, melodic punk. The press sheet compares it to Rise Against and A Wilhelm Scream, two bands I heard years ago and never listened to again. What I get is that the vocals really remind me of Osker, which is fantastic! Aside from a few too many guitar solos and fast drums all the time (seriously! it gets old quickly) which I guess reflects their influences, this is as decent a record as you’re going to hear for this kind of more produced poppier punk. I’m going to file this along with my De La Hoya cds and dig it out in those moments when I’m not feeling like a grumpy bastard.
