Noise by Numbers cited influences such as HÜsker Du, Seam & Weird Science but, to my ear, play totally-linear, as-few-chords-as-possible early-Green Day worship. I’m not sure how much of my disdain for this record is brought on by my bias about the genre. I think that it’s fair to say that NBN are not awful and I’ve heard this same thing done a hell of a lot worse by girlfriend’s friends’ bands when I was fourteen and fifteen. Honestly, I don’t really have any insight into this other than it sounds a bit like early Green Day sometimes. I suppose a thumbs up is in order for making me feel a little nostalgic at times, but I couldn’t really get much more out of it. One for the pop-punk heads, I guess.
