Labels: Home Invasion

The first song on this 7”, “Hairless’, could be my favourite song of 2009. It has all the My-War-Side-B bassy distortion of peers like Slices (who paired with the atypical “noise’ guitaring and sleazy/desperate vocals of Pissed Jeans. While Pissed Jeans are definitely the first band that come to mind when listening to this, Dry-Rot move a fair bit faster and, in my opinion, even nail the lyrics a little better. I think its safe to say that this 45, short as it is, has made all the dredging through waste-of-time noisy hardcore I did in 2009 worthwhile. Highly recommended for anyone into Pissed Jeans, Slices, Cult Ritual etc. or just noisy hardcore in general. An easy pick for one of my top 10 EPs in 2010.
Home Invasion are a really exciting label: they’ve also put out the first Slices 7” and Middle America 7”. I’ll be keeping an eye out for whatever they do in 2010.
