Been kinda putting off listening to this one for a while. Weird, I know, but since the debut 7″ was such a brilliant little slice I was kinda fearing they’d somehow go and fuck it all up between that and this. A murmured ‘phew’ and a quick dab of the brow then since this ‘un is also fucking GREAT, a taut dose of belligerent punk that doesn’t seem to sound like anything much else at the moment. Sure, there’s the clang-clanga-chang kinda sound to the guitars and awkward, shoulder-hunched tension that suggests a fondness for stuff like the Wipers or Crisis, but there’s also a weird, niggling sense of uncomfortable otherness to proceedings that sets them apart and you ill at ease while things race ahead without a backward glance toward a brisk, bleak, split-lipped finish.
