Yet another dose of hostility from these prolific Aussies, this time sounding a bit cleaner round the edges as they blast and mangle their way through 12 more odes to negativity and desperation. Choppy, on-a-dime riffing spurs things on while a wild-eyed n’ slavering frontmant coughs venom over anyone and anything in spitting distance, ably assisted on ‘Grind To A Halt’ by the venerable Barney Greenway whose instantly-recognisable GROARGH adds a nice dash of colour to the No Comment / DRI-flavoured proceedings. Has to be said, though, that whilst more than serviceable this isn’t necessarily Extortion’s mightiest moment to date – there’s a slight lack of immediacy to things and the rage seems to have been tempered just a jot, all of which isn’t a major cause for concern but nonetheless a blip that’ll hopefully have been fixed by the time the next release comes charging round the corner.
