After some burbling electronics Unearthly Trance ooze gloopily into life with ‘Obscene Truth’, a gnarled dose of their grimly familiar blackened-sludge-cum-hardcore that’s all be-tentacled riffs and rather wrong vocals. They finish their side of things with a slavish and slightly unnecessary HHIG cover which, whilst serviceable enough, could easily have been kicked to the kerb to make way for another UT original or a few more minutes tacked onto the end of that last one to make it a dash more satisfactory. Oh well. Bedfellows Aldebaran have been knocking around for a while now and do what they do well enough, huffing and puffing and knocking you flat, rounding off a decent, solid lil split that doesn’t deliver quite enough to be truly great.
