Faintest Idea - Ignorance is This - CD (2010)

Labels: TNS Records
Review by: Thomas Strawbridge

Kicks of with an off key trumpet doing the first few bars of Rule Britannia. Ska/punk is here! With the exception of Caeser Soze I’ve never liked any ska band….but I’ll give this a shot. Brass here is sax and trombone and is worked in well throughout the songs as opposed to dropped in for sections. The lyrics are mostly political but with a good sense of humour behind them which shows up in the delivery as well. I guess this is pretty good as far as ska goes? I have no reference point. The main vocal seems a bit over aggressive but I guess there’s a bit of streetpunk/oi going into this as well. So anyway, if you like ska/punk this is probably worth checking out. If you don’t then you probably didn’t get this far in the review anyway.
