By all rights, this should be a fucking trainwreck. In attempting to explain to others how these six troubled and incongruous tracks work themselves out I have, variously, namedropped the likes of Big Business, Shudder To Think, Drive Like Jehu and Credence Clearwater Revival. Doesn’t quite convince, I know, but take a listen to the angular spasms of ‘Until Threads Are Stripped’, the stentorian lowing of ‘Send Conan Home’ or the wibbly, batshit bonkers n’ FX-treated falsetto of ‘With SARS I’ll Ride The Wind’s tale of a highly aspirant disease and the wrong sort of cogs might just click into place to make for a wonderfully hideous prog-punk-metal clusterfuck that’s special in just about every sense of the word.
