Moth Dust - Jacuzzi - Tape (2010)

Labels: Teleferico Tapes
Review by: Nadia Almashoor

Me reviewing digital format is just wrong. It is as wrong as that Karate Kid remake. But we should not hate and instead embrace the idea that sharing is caring (to much extent). And when you live halfway across the world (like me) from some really good music, physical formats will take just a wee lil’ bit longer to arrive in the post. Plus, we are all very busy and we don’t have all day to wait
now, do we?

Having said that, Moth Dust is a Portland-based 4 piece with members from Deer or the Doe and
Life At These Speeds and they lovingly share these four tracks from their 6 song cassette. If you dig Drive
Like Jehu, then there is no way in limbo that you can not be aroused by these fine lads. From the
ferociously explosive “˜Glenn Mentic’ and “˜Mr Understanding’, they instantly get you grooving
and rocking with full-on strained vocals in pure post hardcore fashion. They do take it a notch down
with “˜Tearing The Signals’ and “˜Cape Disappoinment’ but are still crushing with some very delicious
hooks.

After much repeated listening, they made me wanna pick up my Torches to Rome lp (which has
gotten pretty dusty, pun intentend). And that’s a darn good feeling. Absolute mint.

Do not wait anymore.
Get up on it.

p.s. Oh but if the cassette is in front of you, by all means please get a copy. Or more.
