Two grindish things from either side of the Atlantic here, Californians Black Hole Of Calcutta on one side with some fairly loose-around-the-edges, punk-tinged grind that grunts and gargles in pleasing enough ENT fashion but suffers from a tinny, trebly production that does them no favours whatsoever.
The two Wojczech tracks also labour beneath a fairly shit-sucking production job but are a bit more interesting, their incessant Phobian blasts mixed in with some more dissonant moments (think: Discordance Axis when they let things breathe a bit) that add just enough texture to keep you guessing. They also get plus points for trying their hand at an ABC Diabolo cover, which mightn’t be as menacing as the original but at least showcases a slightly more diverse influence than many of their peers might be able to boast.
