Normal Man - That Joyless Vibe - Tape (2010)

Labels: Horrible Injury
Review by: Alex Deller

Scuzzed-out, shit-smeared, punch-a-baby-in-the-face punk that draws from the Fang / Plainfield / Drunks With Guns school of un-thought and comes across like a less-refined stab at that last Pissed Jeans album. Simpleton riffs are hefted like paving slabs in the hands of delinquents atop a railway bridge. Drums thunder like the hooves of drunken horses. Bass notes stink like bad guts in an elevator and Noah Brown has a strangely soulful set of pipes which make him sound like he should be a sisterfucking woodsman living off bugs in a shack rather than ambling about Leeds in his downtime. A proper nasty fucking bit of work and make no mistake, which is doubtless exactly what these sick fucks intended.
