I hope that this song is about Demi Moore, wait, no the insert explains it’s about being a grown up punk. Anyway, apologies to Seb, who gave me this single to review way back in July, on my birthday, we were both pretty drunk, it was late, I think we were laughing about how shit England and France were in the World Cup a lot. Anyway, 12XU sound kind of different on Demi Talents to what I was expecting, as this is super rocking punk not a million miles from Leatherface. All galloping guitars and melodic urgency. Flip it for “La Rouille”, which is similarily driving. This single sounds like it should have been on Snuffy Smiles. What with the 90s English punk rock flavour and nasally vocals it isn’t a million miles from Blew, the Urchin, Screaming Fat Rat, etc…
Good seven! I miss hearing punk played in this way, and 12XU do a fine job with it.
