It seems like everyone in Greece is having a pretty shit time as of late, so it’s a shame that Ruined Families aren’t going to be cheering up any of their fellow Athenians any time soon. They make a Cursed-esque kind of dense and furious hardcore, with a no-nonsense attack that is aided by a burly production job. They add elements of Converge-y chaos and grind into the mix, and stave off boredom with some well-placed slow sections. Special mention should go to the drummer who really locks it down here with a stellar performance. Eight songs in about 17 minutes means this doesn’t outstay its welcome, and although it’s nothing you haven’t heard before, it is more than deserving of a wider audience.
