Two more numbers here from Kim Phuc. Initially I was kinda disappointed since neither possesses the grim immediacy of their other 7″s, but with progressive listens they managed to claw their way into my brain and just about make sense. Both are gloomy, mid-paced things, based around portentous basslines and simple, repetitive guitar clanks that gnaw at your senses like hungry sewer rats while the singer spits and yowls over the top of it all like a seedier, sex-starved Guy Picciotto. ‘Suicide Circle’ on the b-side throws some groaning female vocals into the mix, adding another layer to the greasy clamour and helping chalk up another grubby hit for this altogether rather special band.
