Absinthe Rose - Humanwine - split - CD (2010)

Labels: Rodent Popsicle
Review by: Captain Fidanza

Absinthe Rose have recorded six songs which are so similar I challenge anyone who isn’t a member of the band Absinthe Rose to tell them apart. It’s quite extraordinary, I thought I might have become embroiled in some horrifying Lovecraftian nightmare in which I had become trapped in a perpetual three minute loop from which I was being prevented from escaping by shadowy forces beyond my comprehension. But I hadn’t been.

Bizarrely, Humanwine’s contribution to this split CD sounds like a very poorly produced version of Absinthe Rose.

So if you like poorly-produced, highly-repetitive, female-fronted folk music, this is for you. Or you could just forget all about this rubbish and listen to Unhalfbricking instead. Up to you.
