Two quick bursts of rage here from No Statik, a new(ish) band featuring folks who’ve been round the hardcore block a fair bit. ‘Clarified, Distilled, Recomposed’ is first up and grabs you by the throat with its gnarled, crust-tinged hardcore assault, the riffing tightly reined and the ravening vocals a stark reminder as to why we should all probably listen to that Scrotum Grinder LP a bit more. Reminds me a bit of Stations, and that can only be a good thing. Over on the flip ‘We All Die In The End’ is about as cheery as its title would imply, an instrumental number that drags itself up from a tangled mess of looming riffs and overdriven squeals and tumbles forward into a strange, muted, electronically-assisted afterlife that could probably last for days if you let it. Cool.
