In Circles - Reciprocity - LP (2010)

Labels: Evil Weevil
Review by: David Giles

In Circles took me total by surprise. To my ears, there’s a big DC post-hardcore influence and they definitely call to mind bands like Fugazi, Drive Like Jehu and even Rites of Spring at times. Maybe I’m exaggerating because I’m pumped about being blown away by a band but I don’t think I am. Now, I don’t mean to suggest that this band is necessarily as good as any of the above mentioned but in 2011 if anyone even tentatively reminds me of any of those sounds, I’ll give them the time of day. This 10 track EP is genuinely sick: great shouted vocals, nice build up and break downs parts, killer bass punching through with riffs instead of just beefing out the guitars. Lyrics rule too. Man, I can’t get enough of this. I’ve listened a couple of times the whole way through and probably will be for the next while. Would fit in well with UK bands like Harbour, Shitty Limits etc. too but might even blow them away. Genuinely sick! Listen to this.
