Hanna Hirsch is 5 folks from Sweden, and here they dish out an enjoyable LP of indie / power pop. I’ve had trouble writing this review for a long time as I am not entirely sure what to write about it. I am even reading other reviewers to try and clear the block. That’s not because this is a mediocre record, the type of album that it can be hardest to spew vocabulary about. Because I like it, it’s good stuff, it rocks out and it’s catchy, it sounds like other music I like (the Wedding Present, Superchunk) and I enjoy listening to it, I just can’t think of any fucking words to say. Which is silly, because I can crank out a thoughtless review about some random piece of junk in 5 seconds if required. Just here I run into a brick wall. What else can I say. This is a good record, I like how the vocals maintain a melancholy air even while the guitars gallop along at quite the pace in particular. That’ll do. Sorry to all involved.
