This is a fairly solid indie-rock album from the boys of Former Cell Mates. Admittedly, I haven’t listened to them since their first album, but it sounds like they’ve beefed up the production a bit, adding horns and organs to a couple of tracks. I always liked the raspy vocals from this band, and I get the impression that this album might be a bit of a grower if I give it the chance.
It’s nothing revolutionary, but if you’re already a fan of the band, or if you like indie-rock, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. I do wish they’d stop banging on about how one of them used to be in Leatherface though.
