To be honest I haven’t got a clue about this kind of music – not the best start to a review it has to be said. Named after an Iron Monkey song and taking influences from them and other bands such as Mastodon and Black Sabbath, this is fairly solid progressive metal from a UK band. There’s a definite Kyuss vibe going on with the groove which is the best aspect of it for me. The occasional strange effects on guitars and vocals, whilst perhaps attempting to make the band stand out somewhat, do more to detract on the songs. There are numerous nice riffs in places – a solid foundation is defintiely there to be built on. Overall, a nice effort but I’ll stick to Kyuss for the time being.
