Zero Zero - demo - CD (2010)

Labels: self released
Review by: Alex Deller

Bit of a balls up here since the CD Zero Zero sent over didn’t actually contain any music. Tsk tsk. Thankfully, though, their bandcamp page features all six tracks and while they whistle by at pace they at least last long enough for you to realise that things are pretty fucking great. Despite the brevity there’s a fair bit going on, too, with each minute-and-a-half blast comprising scraggly yet inventive guitar lines, jerkily-constructed bass runs and a yelpy, hyperkinetic singer whose strained tones fall somewhere between Jello Biafra and the dude from By The Grace Of God. The results are like some sort of feral, highly-combustible Anti-You / Deep Sleep / Hot Snakes amalgam, and if such a notion doesn’t at least pique your interest then you should maybe get some bloodwork done since there’s a fair chance you’re half-way dead already. Awesome!
