This is a highly polished, tension tightened bit of instrumental stoner rock in an Unsane or 16 vein (sans vocals obviously) from the middle of absolutely bloody nowhere, Russia. I’m glad that the aural language of frustration and blissfully downtuned noise is a constant that can be appreciated across the entire globe. Anyway, “Chords” has three tracks of super-catchy, deceptively simple, slightly mathy, satisfyingly churning rock action. Despite the fact that it is literally nothing you ain’t heard before, I haven’t listened to much else for the past week.
