Saltstone are from the lovely South Hams area, which is on the less run down coast of Devon, i.e. the south, so where the tourists go, not like poor old North Devon, which only has Ilfracombe’s Damien Hirst’s restaraunt going for it.
Anyway, apparently the brother of one of my friends is in this band, and apparently the band have split up now, and one of them is in the ‘garage/punk’ band The Computers (whom I suspect would be roundly hated by Collective Zine, but are alright really) playing the piano or something.
It’s pub rock, and seems to be rural themed, it’s played really well, and maybe if I liked that phase of Brit-rock with Feeder, 3 Colours Red, and Oasis then I guess I would like it. The songs seem well written also. Can’t criticise it really, just not my cup of tea.
The countryside is nice and that, but after 15 years of it, I’d had enough. Don’t be too proud Saltstone, it’s just a county, it doesn’t mean anything!
