Esazlesa - 7'' - 7

Esazlesa are a hardcore band from the Czech Republic. They are clearly from the Envy school of music; even the vocals are reminiscent of this, from the screams to the spoken parts. Its kind of like someone has taken the whole Envy and Daïtro back catalogues and merged them together. Overall, it works pretty damn well even if it’s obviously ripping off the masters themselves. There are two songs on this record and they both hold up very well. The first track is seven minutes but never gets dull, whilst the second track has a great intro build up before unleashing the fury, yet surprising me my not including vocals. Good work.

The best bit about finding out about this band is watching a video of them play in the street outside a venue – some sort of all dayer it seems. A considerable crowd has gathered and it all looks really positive. I still strongly feel like DIY punk should strive towards more things like this, seeking niche places to play where as many people as possible can find out about it. All in all, a very solid 7”.
