This sounds pretty much like both sides of the Transistor Transistor/Light The Fuse And Run split, maybe with a little Hot Snakes for good (or bad – I’m not really a fan) measure. It makes for a decent mix, but unfortunately comes across slightly flat on the record. I get the impression they are better live and haven’t managed to capture the same feeling here. In places this reminds me of the first Lack lp which is excellent, but in others the songs overstay their welcome – I dozed off during the A side but I was admittedly very tired. Not sure about the shirt and ties lark, but whatever. This is better than average, but not great in any way.
