Labels: Blackheart Mountain – IFB Records – Plan-It-X
Review by: Kunal Nandi
Here’s a little record that isn’t exactly pushing the boat out when it comes to hardcore from the thrashy, more powerviolent end of the spectrum, and the political subject matter covers old staples such as capitalism, gender, immigration and the prison system, with lyrics and explanations printed on a sheet that comes inside a recycled screened sleeve. But are the tunes good? Yes. Do the lyrics mean something and provoke thought? Yes. Could you have a moshing good time at one of their gigs? Most probably. You could do a hell of a lot worse, believe me.
