There are 4 tracks of bluesy, rock n roll-infused punk on this demo tape from Teen Rebel Dopefiends. They have quite a raw, live sound and it opens with a bluesy instrumental which doesn’t necessarily signify what follows. When the vocals kick in on “Higher” it gets a bit more ragged. The singer has quite a deep, gruff voice and I can hear a bit of early Against Me! in the attitude and the vocals although the music is nothing like them. There’s a heavy rock n roll sound throughout the demo too especially on “Mr. Official” where they slow things down before the bluesy riffing is cranked up again. It’s not bad but it’s a bit too messy all round for me. I think that may be the point though.
