Shit name, shit cover art and at least one song appreciating pizza. These are not good signs, and the first point alone was enough to prepare me to pen a review wherein I didn’t actually listen to the music but instead made much of the fact that Andy must have misheard me say something that sounded like “bro” one time to have sent me this. Turns out, though, that one fella was in two great-but-overlooked hc bands (High On Crime and Seven Days Of Samsara) and another played in Since By Man, whose first 7″ and split with 7DOS I remember being pretty decent. That, at least, makes it worth a spin, and the results aren’t as offensive as I at first feared: short, sharp, choppy hardcore that hurtles along in bracing fashion and is fairly overloaded with coughed-up vocals and enthusiastically rough-edged melodies. In a way it kinda reminds me of I Shot Cyrus playing Gorilla Biscuits songs, and while much of hardcore’s worn out on positivity and acting like it doesn’t much care about anything anymore it’s done better than plenty of other similar bands (top of my head: No Friends) and will at least make the chore of perfecting a scribbly puking punk or cutting out ‘provocative’ images from vintage gay porn mags for your zine / demo tape / 7″ pass more quickly than if you sling on a Confuse boot or Brainbombs CD by way of soundtrack.
