This EP has been out for quite some time now. It was recorded in 2010. I know very little about the band apart from them hailing from Moline, Illinois and that they were a 2-piece. I also know that they have split up and are no more which is a shame as this is rather good. Their style of mid-paced indie rock reminds me of a scruffier, more raw version of Built To Spill. The first song “Either/Or” sets the bar high – the opening riff is great and I dig the chorus massively. Both members sing and their melodic vocals work for me. The cracking “For Now” opens with a hefty riff before settling into a similar vein to the first track, and the rockier “Stuck With Me” doesn’t let the side down either. The EP closes with a peaceful, instrumental reprise which blends in some electronica that is nearly nineteen minutes long. I have no points of reference for that track and it’s totally different to the rest of the EP. That last track might test your patience but it’s still a pleasing listen. I would have really liked to hear an album’s worth of this band.
