Two blokes from Transit and This Time Next Year form Misser. That alone is enough to cause a frenzy amongst some of the pop punk kids. Both are guitarists and backing vocalists in their other bands. As expected, this is pop punk and not far removed from either of those bands. It’s closer to Transit than This Time Next Year though and they have a healthy dose of rock thrown in. They open with a short acoustic track about being hungover for months on end. They crank up the volumes from here on in. They don’t stray too far from the pop punk blueprint though and there are plenty of cheeseball lyrics on offer – one song about the horrors of songs on the radio and reality TV; another one, “I’m Sick” takes it too far in terms of there being any chance of me connecting with the lyrics and its token use of the f-word . There are some more standard pop punk songs along the way too like “Reconnect This” which the kids will probably go mad for. Some of the slower songs sound like Brand New too – particularly “Sanity”. I’ve heard it done better by other bands but it’s not bad and will likely appeal to fans of bands like the aforementioned alongside the likes of Man Overboard. If you like those bands then, although I don’t think you will be blown away, you will likely find plenty of appeal here.
